Deep and meaningfull post..
Also, I'm getting married in 20 days! Thats a bit of a shock to the system, but honestly.. I'm so excited about it and I can honestly say I really look forward to spending the rest of my life with the Lovely lady i'm going to be marrying in just under 3 weeks.
After that, its time to settle down, buy a house, earn a small fortune and be an adult. All this is admittedly a bit scary, but I really am fine with it all.. I say that now! lol
Either way, I know that alot has changed and even more is about to change, but I honestly feel that nothing can go wrong for me at the moment and I really am riding the crest of the good times wave! I won't deny that i'm missing people from back home, All the guys from Norwich Union that used to make going into work on a daily basis worthwhile for the laughs and jokes and the guys who would always be up for a beer after work on a Friday... Thinking of you all guys! But I must also say i'm really looking forward to an old friend from High School coming to Hong Kong for a 48 hour stop over and then my mum coming over for 5 days just before Kirsty's Birthday. Its nice when you have visitors and I'm really excited about it all!
So, I've made this post and its left me feeling a bit homesick.. but i'm going to be back within a couple of months so i'm sure it will pass, also.. I've got a couple of days work ahead of me, doing IT at a conference in a nice Hotel in Hong Kong. This one isn't for architects though, this one is for lots if IT inferstructure people icluding some big cheese from CISCO!! Hmm... better print some business cards!

Yeeeaaahhh!!!
Exciting Stuff!!.. Seriously!!
Firstly, Its September which means I have been living in Hong Kong for 6 months!! Thats pretty damn awesome and it's been brilliant but as you will know, All good things must come to an end and it looks like my time in Hong Kong will be coming to an end before Christmas. I can't give you anymore details than that at the moment, but I think its likely I will be back in England by Mid November time.
Secondly, For those of you who don't ever check your facebook which is probably none of you. Kirsty and I are getting Married in 27 days!!! Infact, in 27 days, I will officially be a married man and celebrating with all mine and Kirsty's chums in Hong Kong. We are haviing a registry office service in the morning, then a couple of hours of Photo's which will be a good mixture of silly ones and serious ones with everyone in them, then we have an all you can eat and all you can drink buffet booked on the top top deck of the very famous Jumbo Floating Restaurant (we've not been there yet but have been told it is AMAZING!). The lunch buffet they do is mostly seafood, meat, more meat, more seafood, some more meat, some veg, bits of fruit and more meat... oh, and some seafood! So, I think its fair to say that everyone will be having plenty to eat and drink during the afternoon and then anyone who wishes to will be able to join us for a night on the tiles in Legendary Lan Kwai Fong.
Now.. Just for the record, we're getting Married in Hong Kong because as most of you will know we set a date to get married before a move to Hong Kong was even on the cards of 25th July 2009. Now, because we came to Hong Kong, it didn't happen so we have decided that after being engaged for so bloody long that we're as good as married, we're going to get the officialities over and out of the way whilst in Hong Kong because frankly were bored of waiting and don't want to wait until July 2010. BUT.. We will still be having a UK wedding and this wedding will be 31st July 2010! This wedding will be taking place at St Catherines Church in Norwich and will be followed by a Piss-up at the Taste of Oz in Ringland. Where we will be celebrating with all our family and friends back in the UK. Also, this is a damn good excuse for me to have 2 stag-do's! (No, this is not why were getting married twice.. but it is a good reason too incase anyone else is thinking about it!)
There will be Photo's on Here and Facebook of the big day and I hope you will all be about in the UK when I get back so we can have some beers and catch up.. I have genuinely missed many peoples and look forward to getting back into the swing of things again. My time in Hong Kong has been amazing, I've met many many ace people and I have seen many things that I could of only dreamt of seeing, but being out of work for so long now, has started to get to me a bit. I'm starting to feel that I'm becoming a bit of a burden on everyone I know over here, especially Kirsty, and whilst I still like it here.. I just think its about time I accepted that I'm going to have to come back to Reality at some point soon and get a job again. I've had my fun.. now I have to start doing what has to be done again.
So.. That's all for now, I will try and keep you all updated on any progress with regards to moving home or getting married, and i'm pretty sure there will be many photo's from my Hong Kong stag do for you all to see on Facebook.
Speak soon.
P.S. Mase.. Hope the moving in with Helen goes well, hope to see you both when I get back, maybe another movie night on the cards? :)
Nothing Special
Not too much to report at the moment, I'm a little bit hungover today after a night of all you can eat and all you can drink for what works out to be about £8, at which I got the pleasure of eating Goose intestines, Eel, Scallops, Beancurd, Chickens Testicles, Pak Choi, Cuttlefish, Squid, Lamb, beef and god knows what else as well as managing to drink alot of beer for very little!.. Good times!
I've added a few photo's to the photo's page from when we were in Macau just to give you a bit of a taster... at some point i'll get round to uploading them all onto facebook so you can see whats been going on.
Tomorrow I have some more Airsofting, at which I will make sure I take some Photo's for all to see as well as photo's of the bruises from when I get shot!
Over and Out... for now!

Asia's answer to Las Vegas??
Kirsty and I went to Macau last weekend for a bit of a getaway. Its about an hour away on a ferry and is home to some very impressive casino's and a whole lot of gambling addicts!
I'm going to post some pictures on the blog today so you can see what its like.. I think you'll like it. I went there not knowing what to expect. I got told it wasn't very nice and that I won't really enjoy it, but I can honestly say I really enjoyed it. We saw The Venitian, The Grand Lisboa and The Wynn, but didn't get a chance to go to the MGM Grand, Sands or any of the other Casino's that are all over the place. There are lots of them and it was alot of fun.
When we weren't in the Casino's we enjoyed a nice stroll around the classic mediteranian feeling town square. Macau is a strange place because its a Portuguese ran country that is classed as part of china, so all the street signs are in Contonese and Portuguese which certainly made trying to find our way around interesting.
All in all, we had a great day. managed to see lots of exciting places and ate lots of Ice Cream!

Grrrr!!
Doesn't automatically store history
has a built in spell checker
and doesn't weigh your system down!
Here's what I think about the Browsers out there now...
Safari - Crap. That’s about all I’m going to say, fills your computer with crap and it's almost impossible to get rid of. Also... it’s made by Apple... Nuff Said!
Opera - I was expecting so much more... It has the easy to use factor, Its light and its looks nice... but Oh my god is it slow!! Seriously... I was expecting sooo much more from it and it failed to deliver... BIGTIME!!
Google Chrome - I Used chrome for a while and when I first installed it and used it.. I loved it. I thought it was a genuine competitor up there with the likes of Internet Explorer and Mozilla, but after a while, I noticed that it has issues with anything java based or anything that needs external links... Most of the time… it just won't do anything... Doesn’t freeze and you can do other stuff... but it's almost like you didn't click anything at all! So, that went and I was glad once it had because it was actually doing my head in something rotten!
Firefox - Where to start with this one.. Ok. We all know Firefox, most of us used Firefox 2.0 purely because we wanted to stick our fingers up at Bill Gates and tell him to F**K OFF and take his Billion pound corporation with him. I certainly did and loved it, but then Firecock (see what I did there...) decided to release Firefox 3.0 but subsequently released Firefox 3.5 when they realised just how shite 3.0 was. So, me being the geek I am, I thought I'd check out 3.5. Now, don’t get me wrong, it is a very good browser.. but Its got sooo many floors to it. It’s pretty slow... Not as slow as 3.0, but still rather sluggish and it also has a habit of Crashing when you really don't want it too as well as failing to load links correctly. The amount of crap that I put Firefox 2.0 through was amazing and it managed to cope with all of it... Firefox 3.5- Is a letdown.
Internet Explorer 8 - So.. This leaves us with IE8. It's known for having major security issues... What people don't know is that this was fixed pretty sharpish and it’s now a perfectly safe browser to use. This however doesn't make it perfect. It’s a Very Good browser, but its missing a few very simple things that would make life so much easier... for example... A FUCKING SPELL CHECK!!! EVERY other browser I have tried has one and for some reason this seems to be the only browser that doesn't... So, Mr Bill Gates... care to justify why you haven't got one in there? Hmm... Nope, didn't think you would.
So here I am, stuck with IE8 until something better comes along... Would someone be kind enough to make me a browser that works??
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blimey.. Its been a while hasn't it!
So... whats happened since I last updated ze blog? I've done loads.
I haven't tried doing anymore stupidly long hikes as I pretty much killed myself on the last one, I have eaten lots of McDonalds (large Double Quarter-Pounder meal for £3.00.. oh, go on then!), I had two and a half weeks with no Kirsty as she had a holiday, had a nighttime Barbecue on the Beach in Stanley, which is on the south of the Island, went Airsofting (will tell you more about that in a bit), Watched a shit-load of movies (no other word to describe it!) and a whole load of other stuff, that I can't think of right now but it will hopefully come to me as I type.
Ok, lets break it all down. As I mentioned at the beginning, I was hoping this post would be a 'Horray! I have an awesome job' type of post. I was contacted by an Agency called Robert Half who are very big and very well known in Hong Kong who I had emailed over my CV when I first arrived in Hong Kong. They had a job working as a 'Customer Engineer' for a company called Swift who are a non profit organisation that was set up by the banks as a secure money messaging program to work between banks and any other companies who deal in large amounts of money. Right from the word go, I knew and the Recruitment agency knew, I wasn't qualified enough to do the job but even so the agency got me an interview which was over the telephone. The interview went well and I was asked back for a second interview which was nice, This one again was over the phone, which didn't really bother me too much because I'd already had one telephone interview and wasn't worried. Got through that one fine but then got given some tests to do at home.. Now, These tests were supposed to be easy.. were they FUCK!! Bloody Statistics... what would the GWP be if you ate your own arse??? I had no fucking idea!! So, I did the stupid tests and somehow passed using the 'theory of B' (i'm telling you.. this works a treat!!) Anyways, I was through to the final stages of the interview and was in for a 3 hour interview with numerous different sections to it. So I went to the interview knowing it was going to be difficult.. I can't really be arsed to bore you with all the little details.. all I say is, it went on for far too long and I didn't get the job, nuff said.
Chris de Main is gay..
Sooo... what else is happening, Its Typhoon season in Hong Kong (and its suicide season as well but lets not go into that) which means its getting very wet and very windy at times. This has its ups and its downs as when there is a typhoon the offices close because apparently, its not safe to work in tall buildings with winds that can reach 100+km an hour. On the plus side, some of the bars around HK give free shots and other goodies that get you pissed rather quickly. If thats not your thing though, why not join the Hash House Harriers for a nice run in the T8. This run only happens when the T8 Flag is up but is apparently damn good fun and at the end of it all.. you go and get VERY VERY DRUNK!! (There's a bit of a trend in Hong Kong that involves drinking after everything you do!.. and its taking over.. everything!)
So.. what else has been going down.. Well, I'm ashamed to say, Not a lot really. Been working on my cisco programming, done a bit of HTML work, some Solaris based geekiness and more geekiness of numerous other varieties just to keep me busy. Been out for lots of meals and tried some rather fun foods such as Pig Intestines, Razor Fish, Snails and Squid, some very yummy dim sum... but still no Chickens Feet!! Anyways.. Who's Thirsty? Sounds tasty doesn't it... It actually isn't that bad. I tend to play football a couple of times a week at the moment, and tend to drink this once I've finished because it revitalises you and stops you from getting dehydrated (its normally about 30degrees and 80% humidity in the evenings!) so whilst it may have a stupid name... it's actually not that bad!!
Oh.. I also went Airsofting which is just paintballing but using BB guns which fire plastic BB's at something like 2.0 Joules. Needless to say.. It hurts like fuck when they hit you. It was bloody good fun and we all got quite drunk whilst playing (took the pain away!) but I think next time I'll try close quarters, inside and not at 3am!!
Thats all I can really think of at the moment... I'd like to hear from you, Drop me a message over in the Guestbook and tell me whats going on wherever you may be.. and no Liverpool digs.. Its only been 1 game so far!
Over and out.. more regular updates will commence from now on!

Glutten for punishment! Seriously!
It started off with a walk.. nice and easy over a well known walk in HK called The Twins. Now, The twins is just 2 mountains.. You start off with about 1100 steps going up, then you have less coming down, then you have even more going up and then to finish off, you have lots coming down! It may not sound so difficult but its a fucking nightmare in 30+ degrees heat!! I managed it in 1hr 20 mins.. that killed me.. but if you think thats bad.. Thats just the start of it all!!! If you have a look at this website... It will show you the bit I walked. Its only 4km but its a bastard to do..
Now.. have a look at this walk. The Hong Kong trial is 50km of Mountain walking throughout and around Hong Kong island.. This is where my week ended. On friday I decided that I would try and walk it, so I left my apartment at about 7am and made my way up to the starting point which was The Peak in Hong Kong. From there.. Its all go! I started my walk at 8.30am.. I managed to walk the first 25km in 3 hours but also managed to do something to my Hip that left me hobbling for the rest of the walk.. not really what I wanted! I managed to continue on and hobbled for another 17km before eventually having to give up and admit defeat on the last 8km.
After that I spent the weekend aching like a bastard and i'm still in a fair bit of pain because of it (I've managed to do something to my left shoulder and ribs. not too sure what.. I was actually being very careful for once!!)
Anyways, except for that, my week was the same as normal. Job Hunting, doing some arty bits on Photoshop and played football on Thursday with a good bunch of Expats... Its always a good laugh.. and even more enjoyable that we blatently just play for a laugh.. and that is what we have every week... then a pint!
Thats about all for this week... nothing important.
Keep it real Housies.
Ken
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bank Holiday.. on a Thursday?? whatever next!!
Anyways.. Not much else to report this week.. same as most weeks. Still job hunting, not been drinking as much as I was very hungover last weekend!
An interesting thought to leave you with. If We'd never been to Hong Kong then Kirsty and I would be in the final stages of planning our wedding which was due to happen on the 25th july.
Anyways.. until next time.
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
Updatius Maximus
Figured I should do an update just incase anyone reads this. The last week or 2 have been pretty normal to be fair. The Job hunt continues.. I've had a couple of Job interviews but still nothing has come from them.. which sucks balls!
This weekend we've just had has been rather fun..We started off in a bar on the 21st floor of a building in Causeway Bay where our friend had a fancy dress party.. I went as a Ninja!! (photo's will be on facebook pretty soon!) We stayed and had a drink and a chat, met lots of really nice people and had some fun in costumes (including my mate Drew in a chinese ladies dress). After this, Myself, Kirsty and close friends Drew and Alix wne to a chinese friends Birthday party. A nice bar on the 7th floor of a big building in Kowloon where we played lots of drinking games and got very drunk..
It was $250HK (about £22) all you can drink from the time you turn up.. We arrived late so decided to get single drinks, sat down, joined in and ended up getting drinks from all the chinese people who had paid the $250 and had unlimited drinks all night!
lets just say that we were a bit drunk by the end of it!!
Except for that.. there's not really been a whole lot going on.. i've been trying to get into a decent routine as if I had a job, even though I dont. I see it best to keep me busy and keep the routine or else I would be up all night doing crap and not sleeping!!
I've improved my Photoshop/Illustrator/Fireworks skills with all the spare time.. all of this comes down to how bored I have been.. I have also managed to watch ALL my zombies movies I bought with me and now need some more. The problem is, I cant get any over here at a decent price.. They're all relly expensive and I aint gonna pay for em!!
So yeah.. thats about all for now.. I'll keep you posted and as always, keep an eye on Facebook for the photo's.

A lengthy Update about not alot!
So.. Its been a while since I last did an update.. so here's whats been going down in Boolio land!
Firstyl... SWINE FLU! Yes, you all heard about it landing in Hong Kong, Well a few little facts about it. The Hotel it hit is in a district called Wan Chai. Anyone who has been here before will know about how notorious Wan Chai is.. Its full of Bars and clubs.. people come to Wan Chai to party. Pretty much every singlle bar in Wan Chai has phillipino Hookers outside it who are there to make money to support their families... Most of them take clients to the Metropark Hotel in Wan Chai.. and THATS where the Swine Flu was. Yep.. The Hotel is normally very busy on a friday and Saturday night with Expats and Hookers.. COME TO HONG KONG, PAY FOR ONE NIGHT AND STAY FOR SEVEN FREE COMPLIMETARY HOOKER IF REQUIRED! But don't worry, I don't have it.. but I had made a contingency plan just incase it took over like in 28 days later. (i've been watching FAR to many Zombie movies!
Still looking for a job over here, The Market is really going against me at the moment because of my lack of language skills and lack of work permit. If I had at least one of these things I can guarantee I would of had a job by now! I've been doing a lot of running whilst here as well, Made a friend over here who runs long distances for a hobby, see a run we did the other week here, unfortunately you cant see the extent of the uphill it involves running on the way back.. Its rediculous! we've also done a bit of research into some nice long Hikes to do when were not doing anything..we've managed to find one thats 50k, one thats 70k and if we really fancy it theres one thats 100k for us to have a go at.
Met a buch of Expats a couple of weeks ago who are all into football and so I play football once a week at the moment. There's normally about 10 of us all from England except for one chap who is from Holland so the English football banter comes back into play and everyone makes fun on the Spurs and Newcastle fan.
The weather here has really been in our favour recently, its been getting up to 28/29 degrees pretty much everyday for the last week with no clouds in site and low humidity levels its been really pleasant, but me being the true brit that I am, I've struggles with the heat quite badly. Its keeps me up most nights and if I'm out in it for more than about half an hour... i'm sweating buckets, so I tend to stay in the apartment with all windows open and a good book... I know.. Ken.. Book.. whats going on here is probably what you're thinking, Its true, I've started reading more since I got here and quite enjoying it. Read a good book by Nick Hornby called 'How to be good' Very good book, I quite enjoyed it.Last weekend was a Bank Holiday weekend. Now in Hong Kong they celebrate their bank holidays whichever day of the week they fall.. so for us, May 1st was a Friday so everyone here still had a 3 day weekend, but everyone here went back to work on the Monday after a 3 day weekend. That weekend we were meant to go to China but unfortunately that fell through, so there we were thinking that we had a weekend of doing nothing planned when infact my mate who lives with his sister called me and told me that his sister has flown back to England and didn't lock the apartment, and that he was stuck in the New Territories of Hong Kong and unable to get back to the Island before the next day. So, Kirsty and I got to house sit his apartment. Lets just say, it was like staying in a super plush hotel.. It's a really nice apartment and we actually had quite alot of fun staying there..
Anyways.. yesterday, Kirsty and I decided we'd do a visit to Lamma Island and get some sun away from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong Island. Lamma Island is the third biggest island on the Coast of the Mainland (Hong Kong is the biggest, Then Lantau Island, Then Lamma) but its much less populated that any of the other islands because its such a hot and dry island.. the living conditions on most of the Island aren't suitable. There seems to be a quite large Expat community on Lamma island and after spending most of the day there, I can see why! To get to Lamma Island you have to take a ferry from Hong Kong Island which costs about £1.25 ($14.50 HKD) and takes about 20 mins, so you're never far from the mainland. Ferries run up until midnight so you can finish work late and get home, or go for beers and get home... If I had a job i'd move to Lamma, I might go there when I retire in life.. its an amazing place.. I've put lots of Photo's on my Facebook for everyone to have a look at.
Anyways.. Apologies for the bad English.. I know it makes the whole thing harder to read but just stick with it and I hope you are all well.. Might be back in England for a week in July/August time. Hope some people can come and join me for a beer when I am back.
Ken

Drinks and Fights!
This is what my Bank Holiday weekend has consisted of. Its been really good fun, done plenty and drunk too much as well! lol
So, Friday... Quiet during the day as both Kirsty and I had been quite tired and had rather busy weeks so, we decided it be best to do something in the evening. We went over to Kowloon and Mong Kok to see if we could find the night market. The night markets tend to start at about 7pm and go on till god knows what time in the morning. At the market you are able to buy pretty much anything... Its all there, sometimes you have to have a good look for it, but you will find what you want, and once you have found what you want, you then need to commence haggling on the price... They see it as rude if you don't. My first experience on the market wasn't great with the haggling but luckily Kirsty was on hand to show me how its done.. she's good at it! Managed to get some rather tasty discounts on a couple of bits and bobs but didn't take much money on purpose!
So that was friday. Saturday.. Kirsty woke up with a sore throat, he rhinitus has been playing her up here due to the pollution levels, so we decided to have a lazy day and just chill. We managed to do a lot of chillin on Saturday daytime, but we all decided that we were going to go out in the evening.. This was alot of fun! We went out about 8.30 and went to a place called Stauntons which is a rather nice and friendly Expat bar where Kirsty and I met up with some of her friends and begun drinking. We then went to a couple of other places throughout the night, but the most entertaining part of the night was standing in the streets of Lan Kwai Fong drinking cans of San Miguel and having a little dance.. In England, this would be frowned upon, but it would appear that over in Hong Kong, everyone does it! The bars and clubs here are nice... but they're very expensie.. £4.80 for a bottle of Sol.. What the F*%K! so most people go to the newsagents and buy can and bottles of beer and just drink in the streets, because a can of beer from the news agent will cost about 90p and you can stand outside any bar you want and drink yourself silly for very little. We finally got home about 2.30 and passed out.. That by the way, is an EARLY night over here... places tend to stay open until 6am over the weekends!!
Sunday... Easter. people over here don't tend to celebrate it over here so we didn't. Instead we decided to go to a Muay Thai Boxing Tournament. I did muay Thai for a bit in Norwich and loved it... so the opportunity for me to go and watch some of Hong Kong's finest, including Hong Kong's champion kick some ass was not to be frowned upon! One of the Girls who we went with has been seeing a chap called Jason Wong who is Hong Kong Champion and currently represents HK for his weight division, and Jason had arranged us VIP seating.. we were unaware of this until the Fights were under way when The Chairman of the Hong Kong Muay Thai association came over and moved us. he gave us nice seats and drinks (please note, at this point we had no idea who he was) and then he gave me his business card.. Yes, This very pleasant Gentleman was the Chairman of all of Hong Kong's Muay Thai Association. So, there were 14 fights in total and we knew 3 of the fighters due to the other girls who were with us doing Muay thai at different Gyms. All in all.. It was a really good day, lots of fun fights to watch, no knockouts but some solid kicks and punches to the head. All rather enjoyable... I want a go now. As soon as I get a job, i'm going to start training to fight again.. could be doing amateur fights within a year I reckon.. Lets see what happens!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, Whats happened so far..
Actually.. Sh*t loads!
In the past 2 weeks since I arrived, I've moved twice, been job hunting, been a tourist, made friends, been in some of the coolest looking buildings you will ever see, researched Muay Thai gyms, seen lots of Kirsty and sweated alot!
Its true what they say over here... its Fucking hot. Even when its crap and raining.. its still bloody hot!. Luckily, I've only had the one night where I got so hot that I couldn't sleep and that was when I first got here.. since then its been ok. So... where have I been, what have I seen, Who have I met and what weird foods have i eaten so far.. Well, I've been all over HK island, been to Kowloon, been to Lamma Island.. amazing place.. it was really hot when we went there and it was absolutely beautiful.. really picturesque place, completely off the beaten track. So calm and tranquil that I completely forgot about the Hustle and bustle of Hong Kong whilst I was there. Now.. I've had to move apartment a couple of times as mentioned. First time was when I moved out of Kirsty's place and into a shared place of my own. Its a nice and basic apartment with very little to it and I don't spend much time there as I tend to spend all my time at Kirsty's place at the moment.. but its home and my flatmate is cool.. her name is Shen and she's from London. The second time wasn't me moving, it was Kirsty. Kirsty was staying in accomodation owned by the company that she works for but as it was just her in a huge great apartment, they agreed to move her into somewhere smaller, so she now has a lovely little studio apartment that I tend to spend all day in whilst she's at work and then I tend to go and meet her from work. Don't worry, whilst I'm at home, I'm sending out CV's and emailing companies to try and get me a job... its not easy to find one over here, but I might of had a bit of luck come my way in the last couple of days... I'm not going to write anything though because, whenever I do... it all goes wrong! Kirsty is doing fantastically, she's got a few designs that will be going into stores within the next year and when she's not feeling a bit homesick, then she's doing fantastically over here... really excelling herself and really grabbing like by the horns. This weekend Kirsty's got a 4 day weekend courtesy of Easter, so there's the possibility that Kirsty and I will be going away for a couple of nights, I say possibility because we had a very basic and vacant conversation about it whilst we were on Lamma Island but nothing was agreed, so i'm not holding my breath about anything happening.
Anyways... All you crazy people at work have 4 day weekends coming up, so make sure you make the most of them.. you don't get many of them a year so I hope you all have a great Easter break and Mason... Send me some Rum dude!! Its soooo expensive over here!! :D
Over and out.

Slighty drunken blogging...
Is rather entertaining!!
I'm not very drunk, just been out for a nice meal with my Kirsty and her friend Alix and then onto a pub/club/beer tent where I met Alix's boyfriend Drew, very cool and down to earth and his sister Charlotte, very pleasant, and we drank some TsingTao. Its like the awesome cool beer that all the cool people drink! yeah! thats why I was drinking it.. because i am super awesome cool!
Tonight we only went out for a couple of drinks, Tomorrow by the sounds of things, were going to be out again and its going to be a heavy night! Apparently everywhere in Hong Kong is open until about 6am.. so tomorrow, I will be putting this to the test by seeing how much I can drink and if I can last until after all the pubs and clubs close... i reckon I can do it.. I'm going to give it a damn good try!!
Anyways.. Its nearly midnight over here so i'm assuming all the half-arsed part times at Norwich Union are now about to head home for the weekend or even head to the bar and get pissed... either way, enjoy your weekend and get belted... I will be tomorrow.. just wait for the pictures!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plenty of places to visit!
So yeah, just a quick post to let you know about all i've done so far.
I've seen ALOT of very tall awesome looking buildings.. making these buildings is something that the Chinese have managed to master and they tend to put them up all over the place.
I've seen Kowloon.. Kowloon is on the mainland NOT on Hong Kong island and is quite popular with the western folk as its cheaper to live there than it is on Hong Kong island. just like HK Island though, it is extremely busy and you must forget all spacial awareness boundaries that you have ever had as people will step right infront of you and expect you to be fine with this... Its a bit weird to start with but you get used to it pretty damn quickly.
I went to Causeway Bay Yesterday... Its HK Islands answer to Times Square. No really, It has a shopping Mall called Times Square and outside the shopping centre it even has a crossing just like the times square in America has... Its pretty immense! They also have an Ikea in Causeway Bay, but we decided that we would not go and look for it is a bad place to just go and 'look'
Today, Kirsty and I took the MTR (HK's Underground trains... frackin Awesome!) and went to Disneyland HK.. It rained all day, but all the rides were still open and queues were minimal so we made the most of it. We had a good laugh, got soaked, ate food, wore stupid poncho's, drank fizzy pop and just pratted around for the day.
Tomorrow the plan is.. we are going to go to Lamma Island. This island is the Home and Birthplace of Mr Jet Li..I was gonna call round for him and kick his ass, but Kirsty has said that I'm not allowed, So I have agreed that I will just simply go for a look find his house and come back another time to kick his ass... he'd better be ready for me!!
Got my first full weekend in Hong Kong coming up and am hoping to get me some quality drinking time in there somewhere.. I've found a place for me to live which I will be moving into on Saturday daytime so should be all prepared for Saturday night.. and we will hopefully get to go out and have a laugh... If I get drunk enough, I may well post on here at 6am HK time.

Its been Misty all the time i've been here but its still over 20degrees at 10pm at night! God Damn!! I will update this properly with a nice collection of Photo's for you all to go 'ooh' and 'aaah' at in the next few days.. but for now, have a picture of me on the Escalator.. The Longest one in the world! FACT!

AHMAGAD!!! I leave in 5 days!!!
Yes... Its true, I leave England in 5 days!
I'm fairly nervous about it all but never have I been so excited about doing something with my life as I am at the thought of going to Hong Kong. Its not going to be easy, but itis going to be amazing!
Last night I went out with some friends and a couple of my brothers to the Waterfront in Norwich, The Music was absolutely shite but when you go somewhere with the group of mates that were out last night, I wasn't to worried about the music. We had an ace night except for the music, but at the end of the night once I arrived home, reality hit me and I thought to myself.. 'Shit, i've never done anything like this. I've never been on a flight on my own, never been on a flight further than Spain but above all... Its 5 days away and I've not packed yet!!'.
Anyways, I have all of today and tomorrow to pack, working tuesday and wednesday, Thursday morning i'm getting all my Already packed shit together and travelling to Surrey then on the Friday I fly out! I cant wait to get to Hong Kong... because when I do, I get to see my Kirsty!! Its going to be ace!
Ok... I'm going to go and pack my life into a suitcase.. Last thing to pack will be my Wii!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Less than 2 weeks to go!!
Yep, Its less than 2 weeks till I arrive in Hong Kong! Thats right.. I have 1 week and 3 days left at Work, 1 Week 5 days till I get my flight and then... 1 week 6 days until I land in Hong Kong!!
BRING ON THE TRUMPETS!!!

Late night movie night!
Last night I got home about 4am... This was because I went to my chum Mase's place where he has a Hi-Def Projector, Blue-Ray DVD player and a rather kick-ass sound system linked up for all kinds of awesomeness. This truly did rock!!
We started the night off with the most anticipated movie of the night... Batman: The Dark Knight. I'd never seen this before due to unexpected Complications but can say that it was absolutely brilliant! I was expecting a good movie, but what I got was an AMAZING movie... only one question though... why oh why does he feel the need to put on that really annoying voice all the time?
After this we watched a bit of Rambo.. thats Gory as hell! its wicked, and then we watched Iron Man. Possibly one of the most unexpected gems of 2008. i don't think anyone actually expected this to be good, but it was absolutely brilliant. Robert Downey Jnr is so good!
We also watched a rather strange Japanese Musical about a Guesthouse that has no visitors until one day when one turns up and kills himself... Please note.. It is a MUSICAL! I fell asleep during it which is a bit of a bummer, but what I saw was really...erm...Weirnny (a cross between weird and funny..no, well maybe funnierd would of been better).
Anyways, whilst doing all this, I drank alot of rum and it was good. Thats the most important part, yes yes, the RUM!! We had some nice Rum called Mount Gaye which was hand chosen by the Captain Mase himself... I tried to get some Sailor Jerry's but nowhere in Norwich seems to sell it... This will not be the case before I leave though.. I will find Sailor jerry's before I go to Hong Kong!!
Anyways... Its now 19 days till I leave for Hong Kong and I still have a fair bit to sort... but I can definately say i'm making progress.. Just need to sort out my travel insurance then i'm pretty much all sorted.
Over and Out for now.

Manfluenza!! Aaargghh!!
Sooo, It's 5.51am and i'm listening to Greg james on the radio.. He's been on since 4am, so i've managed to listen to his whole show... I've been awake since about 3am and been unable to get to sleep.
I've had a pretty nasty cold for the last couple of days and its now starting to really do my nut! I've got today off work as a flex day because I've got loads to do but at this rate and with a distinct lack of sleep I don't actually know if i'm going to get anything done... I should really take it easy as I need to get rid of this before I go to Hong Kong, and as much as that sounds pretty easy, its not going to be as i'm going to be so stupidly busy up until the day I leave!!
Anyways. Today my plan is to go to Mine and Kirsty's storage lock up, make a list of pretty much everything in there so we can then try and sell it all or shift as much of it as we can as storage costs far too much! I plan to do this all morning as I then have the rest of the day to sort other things out, like getting travel insurance, sort out dentist and doctors appointments but rest assured I will NOT be doing any form of exercise that I don't have to do today. Oh, thankgod the radio has stopped playing U2.. I really hate them! just something about them that reallly annoys me... anyways, would Work let me change my day from a flex day to a sick day?
Ah well, It's 3 weeks today until I leave Norwich Union which means its 3 weeks and 2 days until I fly to Hong Kong... ISN'T THAT EXCITING!!
